Four Apps That Will Help You Sleep Better And Increase Productivity
If you’re having trouble sleeping like many of us do, there are plenty of free apps that can help you get a better nice rests. Some you’ve probably heard of or are familiar with, but some of these are very impressive!
This app is actually meant for self-guided meditating, but you will absolutely fall asleep using it and doing it before bed will help knock you out in only a moment. This app has an upgrade you can purchase, but it has a free 7 day series called 7 Days of Calm, as well as other free guided and unguided meditative recordings. Your 7 Days of Calm will be built around your personal goals, such as being more relaxed or more easily focusing. Meditation is all about wellness, but it is easy to fall asleep with all the death breathing and quiet, calm atmosphere that the app brings about. It is definitely worth checking out!
White Noise Apps:
This app has many different noises to choose from, including a favorite of mine “Driving in the Rain,” various rain and heartbeat type noises. You can play the noise up until an hour, at which point it will fade away and you will (hopefully) be fast asleep! There is an upgraded version where you can set alarms, but for a simple white noise app, this one will do the trick
Okay, this one isn’t exactly ‘white noise,’ but it is along similar lines. pzizz creates a unique, one-of-a-kind tune for your nightly rest or for power naps. You can set alarms here that will wake you up at the end. This app is GREAT for napping, as you can adjust the timer and it helps you quickly fall into a deep sleep but you are easily awoken and refreshed. There is an optional voice that will calmly speak to you regarding your sleep and helping you concentrate on relaxation, but a simple setting turns this off for those of you that prefer to sleep alone.
This is not a free app, but it is free for 30 days if you are using the Apple App Store. To use Sleep Cycle, you must leave your phone plugged in, face down on your side table next to your bed, with the microphone facing you. Essentially the app works by listening to how much noise you make moving around to decide which REM phase you are in. It tracks things like sleep efficiency, time in bed and average time asleep each night. BEST FEATURE: The alarm is amazing. You set it for the time you need, but it creates a 30 minute window where it will set the gentle, increasing alarm off when you are in your lightest sleep in that period. It makes for a truly royal awakening.
There are many more out there, these are just a few! The important thing is really getting a good night’s sleep. As individuals go, and especially women, we tend to over-pack our schedules and exhaust ourselves on a regular basis. Adequate sleep is necessary to run your day efficiently! These can also help make for much smoother mornings if you’re the type of gal that likes to hit snooze once or twice or perhaps six times….
Getting in and out of bed are meant to be nice moments in our day, not something to dread. I like to live my life so that everyday I am exhausted when my head hits that pillow, and if I don’t sleep well I am useless the whole next day. Not to mention, getting sleep is part of staying healthy!
